What surprises some people when they visit or move to Anchorage, Alaska is the number of talented performers, artists, and musicians that are supported in our community via the local restaurants, Dena'ina Center, University of Alaska Anchorage, and Alaska Center for the Performing Arts facility. The visionaires for Anchorage's stellar art and performing events no doubt saw the potential for bringing artisitc resources to an already culturally diverse place. Recently, Hollywood has taken interest in bringing the film industry to Alaska! This is exciting news and is an obvious choice for Hollywood because of Alaska's 'tax friendly' environment. The film "Big Miracle", starring Drew Berrymore, Kristen Bell, and Ted Danson was shot in part in Anchorage and all around Alaska. |
